At least 15 people developed allergic reactions after taking the antibiotics Ciprofloxacin and Metrozil at Nakkapalli CHC on Tuesday, resulting in their transfer to Anakapalli Government Hospital, according to Dr. Srinivas Rao, Medical Superintendent of Anakapalli District.
Dr. Srinivas Rao revealed that the patients, who exhibited symptoms such as vomiting, were initially rushed to the district hospital in Anakapalli. He stated, 'We have informed the drug control officer regarding this. The medicines from this particular batch will be stopped until reports from the Drugs Control Department are received.'
He further detailed the medical response, explaining that three specialty groups were formed to attend to the patients, including general medicine, pediatrics, and a casualty medical team. 'Everyone is now safe after receiving Avil and Decadron for the allergic reactions. Only one patient, a 50-year-old male, has been referred to KGH for further treatment due to fever and epilepsy.'
