Rajasthan's Ambitious Budget Aims for Holistic Development by 2047

Rajasthan's 2024-25 budget focuses on the comprehensive development of the state, emphasizing youth, women, and the poor. Key initiatives include infrastructure, renewable energy, and social security, aiming to transform Rajasthan into a developed state by 2047.

A day after the Rajasthan Budget for the financial year 2024-25 was unveiled in the state assembly, Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore lauded it as a blueprint for the holistic development of Rajasthan. Speaking to ANI on Wednesday, Rathore highlighted the budget's focus on the poor, youth, and women, emphasizing its inclusive approach to propel the state forward in every domain.

Rathore detailed the youth-centric policies, including initiatives for startups, skill development, and annual Khelo Rajasthan events. He added that the BJP government has a roadmap for progress in all sectors. Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari presented the budget, outlining an action plan aimed at transforming the state into a developed entity by 2047 under the Amrit Kalkhand.

The budget projects state revenue at Rs 2.64 lakh crore against an estimated expenditure of Rs 2.90 lakh crore. Key proposals include enhancing basic amenities, sustainable rural and urban development, empowering farmers, fostering MSMEs and large industries, and promoting heritage conservation. Infrastructure plans feature nine 'Green Field Motorways' and a 53,000-kilometer road network, with a projected expenditure of Rs 60,000 crore. The Lok Parivahan Sewa initiative aims to improve state connectivity.

Further, the Amrut 2.0 scheme will allocate Rs 5,180 crore for drinking water in 183 settlements. The budget also prioritizes renewable energy, rural connectivity, and youth job creation. To boost athleticism, a Rs 25 lakh 'Sports Life Insurance Scheme' is proposed. The government commits to electricity access under the 'Har Ghar-Har Khet Bijli' slogan and plans a Rs 100 crore development for Khatu Shyam, a tourist and religious site.

State Finance Minister Diya Kumari emphasized inclusivity in the budget, addressing all societal sections. Responding to the recent Lok Sabha election outcomes, she affirmed the government's commitment to public expectations. BJP leader Rajendra Rathore underscored the budget's vision for Rajasthan's transformation by 2047, with significant capital expenditure earmarked for infrastructure development to solidify the state's foundation.
