In a dramatic turn of events, two suspects in the Worli hit-and-run case have confessed to their involvement, the Mumbai police confirmed. Mihir Shah, the main accused, and his driver Rajrishi Bidawat, both admitted their roles during police interrogations.

According to sources, a detailed recreation of the crime scene was conducted matching the sequence of events from the night of the incident, starting from CJ House Worli and ending at Sea Link Worli. A Mumbai court has remanded Mihir Shah to police custody until July 16, following his arrest in Virar on Tuesday.

Shah had been absconding after his luxury car allegedly hit a scooter carrying Pradeep Nakhwa and his wife on Dr Annie Besant Road. While Nakhwa survived with injuries, his wife succumbed to her wounds. Allegations of political interference have emerged, with Nakhwa claiming delays in the arrest were due to Shah being the son of a political figure. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has termed the rise in hit-and-run cases alarming and has mandated strict police action.
