Two men were arrested in Karimganj district with one lakh Yaba tablets worth Rs 30 crore. The bust took place during an anti-narcotics operation based on a tip-off, leading to a vehicle being intercepted and the drugs seized. The suspects were identified as Nazmul Hussain and Mutlib Ali.

Two individuals have been arrested for possession of one lakh Yaba tablets valued at Rs 30 crore in Karimganj district. The seizure occurred during an anti-narcotics operation in the Gandharaj Bari area under Ratabari Police station, according to a senior police officer.

Karimganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Partha Protim Das stated that the apprehended suspects, Nazmul Hussain and Mutlib Ali, were intercepted after police received specific information about the drug consignment from Mizoram. "We set up a checkpoint and successfully intercepted the vehicle carrying the drugs," Das said.

Upon inspection, officers found 10 packets of Yaba tablets hidden inside the vehicle's fuel tank. The accused have been taken into custody. This bust follows another operation on June 7, where Assam Police seized 1.7 kilograms of heroin worth Rs 8.5 crores near the Assam-Mizoram border in Dholaikhal.
