BSF Recovers Firearms and Heroin in Extensive Punjab Border Operations

The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized firearms and heroin during search operations in Punjab's Tarn Taran and Ferozepur districts. Acting on intelligence, the BSF collaborated with local police to uncover the contraband, ensuring heightened border security.

The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized a pistol and a small quantity of heroin in Punjab's Tarn Taran district on Thursday. According to an official press release, the discovery was made on July 11, 2024, following specific intelligence about a suspicious packet in the border area of Tarn Taran.

During a search operation at 9:30 am, conducted by BSF troops and Punjab Police, authorities recovered a pistol body (without an upper slide and barrel) and an empty pistol magazine wrapped in yellow adhesive tape. Additionally, less than a gram of suspected heroin was found in a white polythene packet in a farming field near Mastgarh village, Tarn Taran.

Meanwhile, the BSF also unearthed approximately 570 grams of heroin from a farming field in Kilche village in the Ferozepur district. The operation, which began early on July 11, 2024, was prompted by intelligence about narcotics in the border area of Ferozepur. The troops found a 570-gram packet of suspected heroin during a search at around 6:15 am.
