Dr. Karan Singh Urges Swift Action and Strategic Changes Amid Jammu Terror Attacks

Dr. Karan Singh expresses deep concern over recent Jammu terror attacks, urges swift military action and proposes returning Jammu Division to the Nagrota Corps for better regional control.

In response to the recent spate of terrorist attacks in the Jammu region, former Sadr-i-Riyasat (President) of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir and ex-MLA Dr. Karan Singh expressed deep concerns on Thursday. He stated that military authorities are making every effort to track down the terrorists as soon as possible.

Dr. Singh conveyed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and expressed his prayers for the recovery of those wounded in the attacks. 'I trust the civilian and military authorities are making every effort to track down the militants as soon as possible,' he said.

Dr. Singh called on Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to reinstate the old system by returning the Jammu Division to the Nagrota Corps. 'For many years, the Jammu Division was under the Nagrota Corps, whose headquarters are just 30 miles from Jammu. Some years ago, it was inexplicably moved to Western Command in Chandigarh, over 200 miles away,' he explained. He emphasized that restoring this arrangement would ensure better control and surveillance in the militant-prone area.
