Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each for the families of four individuals who died due to lightning strikes in the districts of Siwan, Supaul, and Rohtas. Kumar expressed his condolences via a post on X, previously known as Twitter.
According to officials, lightning claimed two lives in Siwan and one each in Supaul and Rohtas since Wednesday. The Chief Minister previously announced similar compensation for 12 people who died across seven districts in a separate lightning incident.
In a press release, the state government said that Nitish Kumar has expressed his condolences for deaths in various districts and reiterated financial support for the bereaved families. He emphasized the importance of adhering to weather advisories and staying indoors during bad weather to ensure safety.
