Two individuals lost their lives, and four others were critically injured when a bus traveling from Bhalessa to Thathri veered off the road, plunging into a 200-foot-deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials.

Nine people have been admitted to Government Medical College (GMC) Doda, officials stated. The precise cause of the accident remains undetermined, but initial reports suggest a bus malfunction as the likely reason, said Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh.

'The driver tried his best to avert the tragedy. We commend his efforts. Nonetheless, the accident claimed two lives,' Singh added. 'A total of 26 people, including 2 children, were injured. We have referred the serious cases to GMC Doda.' Further details are awaited.
