Two Apprehended in Shocking GTB Hospital Killing

Delhi police have apprehended two individuals related to the fatal shooting of a patient at GTB Hospital. The event, which took place on Sunday, involved mistaken identity tied to a gang rivalry. Ongoing investigations involve video footage and interrogation of the suspects.

Delhi police have detained two suspects linked to the fatal shooting inside a ward at Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, authorities confirmed on Monday. The incident occurred on Sunday.

The case was registered on July 14 based on a statement by Tarranum Malik, who said her brother Riyazuddin was shot by an unknown assailant while receiving treatment in Ward 24 of the hospital.

Police responded to a PCR call and reviewed video footage from cameras near the ward and ground-floor cameras. The footage showed four individuals entering the hospital's emergency gate. According to police, another patient in the same ward, previously shot on June 12, suspected the attackers aimed to kill him but mistakenly shot the other patient.

Based on the video footage, authorities identified the suspects and further traced their Instagram IDs and mobile numbers, analyzing their call detail records (CDRs). During a raid in Laxmi Garden, Loni, police arrested Faiz, 20, from Loni, Ghaziabad. Under sustained interrogation, Faiz revealed that Faheem, also known as Badshah Khan, orchestrated the incident.

Another suspect, Farhaan, was captured in Chauhan Banger. The suspects disclosed that Faheem would convene the group at his flat in Babar Pur, Delhi. On the day of the shooting, Faheem instructed them to target another patient, not the deceased, and outlined their escape plan. Faiz provided the bike used in the operation. After the shooting, Moin Khan and Faiz went back to their home in Loni.

Both suspects were apprehended during the raids, and further investigations are ongoing, police stated. (ANI)
