DoT Continues Inaugural SAC Meetings with Focus on Telecom Innovations

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) held meetings with three Stakeholders Advisory Committees (SACs) to discuss key areas in the telecom ecosystem. Topics included technology promotion, R&D, and improving broadband infrastructure. Further meetings are scheduled for August.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), led by Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Dr Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, continued its inaugural Stakeholders Advisory Committees (SACs) meetings on the second day, focusing on critical telecom areas.

Three SACs, including those for Telecom Service Providers, Internet Service Providers & Infrastructure Providers, and Academicians and R&D in Telecommunications, met with DoT Secretary Dr Neeraj Mittal and other prominent industry leaders.

The sessions concentrated on enhancing broadband infrastructure, promoting local manufacturing, and fostering industry-academia collaborations to drive innovation. Scindia emphasized actionable plans and timelines to advance the sector. Further SAC meetings are slated for August.
