Uttar Pradesh CM Calls for Massive 35 Crore Tree Plantation Drive

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath urges public representatives to plant and preserve 15 crore trees by July 20. Additionally, the Forest Department plans to plant 14.5 crore trees. The 'Mitra Van' initiative, focusing on the UP-Nepal border, aims to boost greenery across 35 forest divisions.

In anticipation of a massive plantation initiative, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called on public representatives from the Rural Development Department, Panchayati Raj, and Urban Development Department to plant 15 crore trees in the state. Emphasizing a unified goal, Adityanath aims for the tree planting program on July 20 to be a collective effort.

Earlier this month, the state government announced the establishment of 'Mitra Van' under the Vriksharopan Jan Abhiyan-2024, targeting the UP-Nepal border. According to Adityanath, locations for the initiative have been earmarked by 35 forest divisions, reinforcing the state's commitment to enhancing its green cover.

Under the Chief Minister's guidance, the Forest Department is coordinating with neighboring regions to plant an additional 35 crore saplings. The department is also set to involve dignitaries from various states, ensuring broad participation in this ambitious campaign. The Forest Department is making extensive preparations ahead of the July 20 deadline to ensure the success of the Vriksharopan Jan Abhiyan-2024.
