Following the arrest of four medical students from AIIMS Patna by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the NEET-UG paper leak case, the institute's Director, Dr. Gopal Krushna Pal, confirmed that the institution will take action if they are found guilty.
Speaking to ANI, Dr. Pal stated, "The report that CBI has arrested them is true. CBI has also given us information that our four students have been formally arrested. But still now, we have not got anything in writing." He added, "Our administrative committee meeting was held today and we discussed the issue. The decision was that the students can be suspended, but subject to legal opinion. We are keeping this suspension order in abeyance until we receive any written document."
CBI sources identified the four accused as Karan Jain, Kumar Sanu, Rahul Anand, and Chandan Singh. The main accused, Pankaj Singh, allegedly managed to steal the question paper during its transfer from Hazaribagh. The NEET-UG 2024, held on May 5, has faced severe criticism, protests, and legal actions, leading to the postponement of NEET-PG 2024 by the Union Health Ministry.
