Kashi Vishwanath Temple Prepares for Massive Shravan Darshan Influx

The Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi gears up for a massive influx of 1.5 crore devotees on the first Monday of Shravan. CEO Vishwa Bhushan Mishra announces special security and convenience arrangements, with Lord Shiva appearing in different forms every Monday of Shravan this year.

The revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, has made special arrangements for the darshan of devotees and 'kanwariyas' on the first Monday of Shravan, which falls on July 22. Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, CEO of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, indicated that a large number of devotees are expected this year, necessitating extensive preparations.

'The Kashi Vishwanath Temple is fully prepared for the convenience of devotees during Sawan. Tight security measures will be in place. Approximately 1.5 crore devotees are expected to visit this year, and the five Mondays in Shravan may see even greater numbers,' Mishra said. The temple, a prominent Jyotirlinga, attracts massive crowds annually.

In anticipation of these huge numbers, the temple administration has implemented a three-tier security strategy. 'We have arranged for comprehensive security. All four gates of the temple will remain open to ensure smooth darshan for all devotees,' Mishra added. Special attention is being given to hassle-free darshan experiences.

On each of the five Mondays of Shravan, Lord Shiva will appear in different forms at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, enhancing the spiritual experience for the devotees. This year, specific forms like Gauri Shankar, Ardhanarishwar, and Shankar Parvati Ganesh will be displayed on successive Mondays, making for a unique visual spectacle.

'Shivamay Kashi will showcase different colors and forms of Lord Shiva with his family—Mata Parvati, Kartikeya, and Ganesh—on every Monday,' said Mishra. The decorations will change weekly, reflecting the sacredness and traditions associated with the month of Shravan, which runs from July 22 to August 19.
