Bihar CM Extends Condolences Over Tragic Deaths in Ganga Drowning, Road Accident

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his deep condolences following the deaths of four individuals who drowned in the River Ganga in the Narayanpur block of Navgachiya subdivision within Bhagalpur district. Kumar also directed the distribution of ex-gratia grants amounting to Rs 4 lakh for each of the families of the deceased.

'The Chief Minister has said that this incident is very sad. CM has directed to give ex-gratia grants of four lakh rupees each to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister has prayed to God to give strength to the families of the deceased and to bear patience in this hour of grief,' stated the Chief Minister's Office. This follows an earlier incident where CM Kumar extended his condolences after six people died in a road accident in Patna's Bakhtiyarpur police station area on Tuesday morning.

'Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed deep condolences on the death of six people in a road accident situated on the Bakhtiyarpur-Biharsharif road under the Bakhtiyarpur police station of Barh subdivision. The incident is extremely sad,' the Chief Minister's Office noted. In the road accident, a car collided with a truck on the national highway in the Bakhtiyarpur police station area, resulting in six fatalities and five injuries.

'Information was received about the road accident on the national highway in the Bakhtiyarpur police station area, where a car collided with a truck parked on the road. A total of 11 people were in the car,' said Abhishek Singh, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Barh-2. He further stated that six individuals lost their lives in the crash.

'The 5 injured are currently undergoing treatment. A postmortem is being conducted, and the incident is under investigation using CCTV footage, forensic evidence, and other technical analyses. Law and order remain normal,' he added. (ANI)
