Anjali Birla, an Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) officer and daughter of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, has initiated a defamation lawsuit in the Delhi High Court. The suit aims to remove social media posts falsely alleging she passed the UPSC exams due to her father's political influence.

In her court filings, Birla emphasized that several social media posts are disseminating misleading and defamatory information maliciously intended to damage her reputation. Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar, representing Birla, highlighted the urgency of the matter, prompting Justice Navin Chawla to agree to hear the case.

The lawsuit also targets prominent tech entities, including Google Inc, X Corp (formerly Twitter), and unidentified individuals referred to as 'John Doe.' The case argues that these baseless allegations aim to harm Birla's professional standing and discredit her family, including her father, the Honorable Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha. Anjali Birla has also filed a complaint with the Cyber Cell of Maharashtra, leading to an FIR against the defendants under relevant legal sections.
