Pappu Yadav Criticizes Union Budget 2024 for Bihar: Calls for Special State Status

Independent Member of Lok Sabha from Purnea, Bihar, Pappu Yadav, has taken a stand against the Union Budget 2024, voicing concerns over the promises of job creation and tackling migration issues in Bihar. Yadav questioned, "They claim to create 4 crore jobs, but how many have been provided in the last 10 years? What about the migration from Bihar?"

Yadav highlighted the absence of a special package for Bihar, despite its significant political clout. He criticized the state government for requesting a package instead of special state status, remarking, "Now you are saying don't give us special state status but a package; why are you begging? You have 30 MPs' support."

Addressing economic challenges, Yadav emphasized the need for special state status, noting the huge expenses incurred by Bihar residents for education outside the state. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in her budget speech, announced infrastructure initiatives including a new power plant, expressways, flood control measures, and new airports in Bihar.
