Budget 2024-25 Faces Criticism: Opposition Labels it Politically Driven

Sanjay Raut and Mamata Banerjee have called the Budget 2024-25 politically motivated and anti-people. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman outlines economic growth priorities, introduces tax reforms, and focuses on employment and skill development.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday criticized the Budget 2024-25, claiming it prioritizes saving the government over national welfare. Raut questioned its benefits for common people, farmers, and students. He noted that the budget, traditionally focused on Gujarat, now favors two more states.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee echoed similar sentiments, calling the budget politically motivated, anti-people, and lacking direction. Banerjee criticized it as having no vision and being overly focused on political gains.

Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her seventh consecutive Union Budget, marking a historic milestone. She outlined priorities like agricultural productivity, job creation, and economic growth. The budget includes significant tax reforms and funds for skilling youth and upgrading industrial training institutes.
