BJP Leader Criticizes Congress and INDIA Bloc Over Budget Opposition

GVL Narasimha Rao of BJP criticized Congress and the INDIA bloc for opposing the Union Budget's special focus on states, labeling it as political frustration. He highlighted balanced development and special allocations for backward states, emphasizing the Purvodaya plan for the eastern region's growth.

In a press conference at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, GVL Narasimha Rao, a leader of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and former Rajya Sabha member, strongly criticized Congress and the INDIA bloc for opposing the Union Budget's special focus on states based on their developmental needs. Rao labelled this opposition as a manifestation of political frustration and negativity.

Rao emphasized the widespread endorsement of PM Narendra Modi's budget, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, which he stated is viewed favorably by various sections of society, including the poor, farmers, and the middle class. He highlighted the budget's special emphasis on education and employment as part of Modi's vision for a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India).

He further elaborated on the consistent focus on balanced development in PM Modi's government over the past decade. The budget continues efforts to support backward states, particularly in the Eastern region, with special allocations addressing long-neglected developmental needs. Rao accused Congress and INDIA alliance of holding a negative attitude towards these initiatives, underscoring their political motives.

During the briefing, Rao also showcased Congress's manifesto, criticizing the party for failing to fulfill promises to Andhra Pradesh, and called for an apology from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to the people of Andhra Pradesh and Bihar for undermining the special budget allocations meant for these states.
