The Ministry for Women and Child Development is set to host a post-budget webinar tomorrow, aiming to discuss government initiatives to increase women's participation in the workforce. Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi will deliver the inaugural address, reaffirming the Ministry's dedication to women-led development.
In the Union Budget for 2024-25, Rs 3.3 lakh crore has been allocated for women's welfare and empowerment. This significant funding will support the Ministry's ongoing efforts to create an ecosystem of working women's hostels and creches, ensure women's safety and security, and implement strategies to boost women's workforce participation, according to an official release. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget on Tuesday.
The webinar will be inaugurated with opening remarks by Anil Malik, Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The event will feature insights from various sector experts who will share their perspectives on best practices, innovative approaches, and key challenges in enhancing policies and facilities for women's welfare and empowerment. The webinar is anticipated to see wide participation from stakeholders, including those at the block level and relevant departmental representatives.
