Nation Honors 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Pays Tribute to Fallen Soldiers
Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, along with other military leaders, paid tribute at the Kargil War Memorial on the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The occasion commemorates the bravery of soldiers who reclaimed strategic positions during the 1999 conflict. President and Prime Minister also honored the soldiers' sacrifices.

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday honored the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas by laying a wreath at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass. He paid tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the 1999 Kargil War.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi also laid wreaths at the memorial, paying homage to the fallen soldiers. Lieutenant General RC Srikanth, Chief of Staff, Eastern Command, paid his respects at Vijay Smarak in Kolkata.
The families of the soldiers also remembered their bravery and dedication. Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu paid tribute, praising the 'courage and extraordinary valour' of the armed forces. In a social media post, she urged citizens to 'draw inspiration' from the soldiers' sacrifices.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Kargil War Memorial and honored the memories of those who made the supreme sacrifice. Kargil Vijay Diwas, marked annually on July 26, celebrates the success of Operation Vijay, during which Indian forces reclaimed strategic positions in Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistani soldiers and terrorists in 1999.
