The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the re-revised results and ranks for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) 2024, confirming that 13,15,853 candidates have qualified.

A remarkable update shows 17 candidates securing All India Rank (AIR) 1, a significant change from the earlier 67. This year's exam, held on May 5, saw participation from over 24 lakh students at 4,750 Centres across 571 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.

In an official statement, the NTA emphasized the comprehensive reach and stringent measures taken to conduct NEET-UG 2024 across 4,750 Centres. Additionally, a re-examination was conducted on June 23 for 1,563 candidates who faced time losses during the initial exam.

The Supreme Court, on July 23, dismissed calls to cancel the NEET-UG 2024, citing a lack of evidence indicating systemic operational failures. The court acknowledged minor breaches at two centers but ruled out the need for a re-exam, stressing the disruptive impact this would have on over 23 lakh students.

The ongoing probe, led by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has identified 155 students as potential beneficiaries of irregularities at Hazaribagh and Patna centers. However, the investigation remains inconclusive.

The Supreme Court bench, led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, emphasized the necessity for resolution to prevent any further academic disruptions.
