A third body was recovered and handed over to civil police following the collapse of a three-storey building in Navi Mumbai's Shahbaz village in CBD Belapur on Saturday morning, according to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

Several individuals are feared trapped in the debris. Navi Mumbai Deputy Fire Officer Purushottam Jadhav confirmed that two people have been rescued. 'We received a call about the collapse at 4:50 am. Two people have been rescued, and efforts are ongoing to rescue those still trapped,' Jadhav told ANI.

Kailas Shinde, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner, stated that the building collapsed around 5 am. It is a ground-plus-three structure. Rescue operations involving NDRF teams are in progress.
