Cross-Border Skirmish in Machhal Sector Leaves One Intruder Dead, Indian Soldier Martyr

A group of two to three armed personnel from Pakistan crossed the Line of Control (LoC) in Machhal Sector, Jammu, and Kashmir's Kupwara district, taking advantage of bad weather and poor visibility. They opened fire on a forward Army post.
One intruder was killed in the exchange of fire, while one Indian Army soldier, who was injured in the skirmish, sadly succumbed to his injuries. Another soldier also suffered injuries but is now stable and responding well to treatment.
The Public Relations Officer (Defence), Srinagar, stated that alert troops responded vigorously, leading to the neutralization of one Pakistani intruder and the seizure of weapons and ammunition. The Indian Army remains resolute in maintaining the sanctity of the LoC and thwarting Pakistani infiltration attempts.
