Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma attended the NITI Aayog meeting on Saturday, where he presented a roadmap for 'Viksit Rajasthan@2047'. Sharma detailed the state government's 10 key resolutions for 2024-25, including plans to transform Rajasthan into a USD 350 billion economy within the next five years. The 9th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, which took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi, was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In his address, Sharma highlighted the state's 2024-25 budget resolutions, aimed at achieving the 'Viksit Rajasthan@2047' vision. These resolutions focus on economic growth, infrastructure enhancement, urban and rural development, human resource advancement, farmer empowerment, MSME promotion, heritage conservation, healthcare for all, and good governance. Sharma cited significant state government actions over the past seven months, including the construction of nine greenfield expressways spanning 2,750 km, the establishment of Matri Vans in every district, increasing the Kisan Samman Nidhi from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000, and providing employment to 20,000 youth.

Sharma briefed the council on key developmental programs and sought central government cooperation. He noted the state's decisive steps in the electricity sector, including MoUs worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore with central undertakings like NTPC and Coal India. These MoUs aim to generate 32,000 MW of electricity, essential for Rajasthan's energy self-reliance. Additionally, the state has allotted land for a 2,950 MW solar project and received over one lakh applications under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. Sharma also spoke about the introduction of primary classes in 134 government Swami Vivekananda Model Schools and requested the Centre to approve an increased cost for the Rajasthan Refinery Project.

Emphasizing tourism's significance, Sharma called for central assistance in developing religious sites and proposed the Braj Chaurasi Kos Parikrama Marg be declared a national highway. He assured Prime Minister Modi of Rajasthan's commitment to becoming a developed state, advancing under the PM's guidance. This year's NITI Aayog meeting, themed 'Viksit Bharat@2047,' focused on strategies to make India a developed nation, discussing the approach paper for the vision document on Viksit Bharat@2047.
