AAP MP Swati Maliwal Labels Coaching Centre Deaths as 'Murder,' Demands FIR Against Officials

AAP MP Swati Maliwal has demanded an FIR against officials responsible for the deaths of three aspirants at a Delhi IAS coaching centre. She claims the incident, which saw the basement flood, is murder and calls for a Rs 1 crore compensation for each victim.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal voiced her outrage on Sunday over the delayed response by officials after the tragic deaths of three IAS coaching center aspirants in West Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar. Maliwal described the incident as 'murder' rather than a disaster, calling for an FIR against government officials. She criticized the absence of any Delhi government minister, Municipal Corporation of Delhi mayor, or other officers hours after the incident.

Speaking on the matter, Maliwal stressed the emotional turmoil of the students and highlighted the unresponsiveness from authorities. 'These deaths are not a disaster; this is murder,' Maliwal asserted, urging for immediate action. She also demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of the deceased students and promised to raise the issue in Parliament.

AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak echoed Maliwal's sentiments, emphasizing the need for accountability. He criticized the city's drainage system, attributing its failure to the previous BJP administration. Meanwhile, Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva called for an investigation into alleged corruption within the current government. The Delhi Police have since arrested the owner and coordinator of the coaching centre, while identifying the victims and informing their families.
