AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami took aim at Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister MK Stalin-led state government on Sunday, criticizing the administration for the perceived decline in the state's law and order. Palaniswami claimed that no day passes without reports of murders, and stressed that security is lacking for everyone, from political figures to ordinary citizens.
Speaking to the media at Thoothukudi Airport, the AIADMK leader emphasized that there have been 595 murders since January, highlighting that law and order are in disarray. He stated, "The DMK government has turned the police force into a campaign tool. The DMK should grant full power to the police."
Palaniswami also addressed the rampant drug problem, particularly involving ganja, calling for immediate governmental action to curb its import from other states. He accused the DMK government of incompetence and pointed to recent murders of political figures as evidence of the state's deteriorating safety conditions.
