Three political operatives from different parties were allegedly hacked to death in separate incidents in Tamil Nadu on Sunday, sparking political outcry.
AIADMK spokesperson Kovai Sathyan accused Chief Minister MK Stalin of failing to maintain law and order in the state. “In less than 24 hours, three people from different political parties have been murdered. This clearly indicates the state of lawlessness in Tamil Nadu and the incompetence of CM MK Stalin,” Sathyan said to ANI. He further claimed the police were hesitant to act against DMK-affiliated individuals due to high-level orders.
Police reported that two suspects have been detained for questioning in connection with the death of AIADMK ward secretary Padmanabhan in Cuddalore district. “A mysterious gang attacked Padmanabhan while he was on his two-wheeler and murdered him on the road, possibly due to enmity. Two individuals from Navaneetha Nagar area have been detained for questioning,” said Inspector PK Sajith of Bahour Police Station.
BJP state president K Annamalai condemned the murder of BJP district secretary Selvakumar, attributing the rise in violence to DMK’s alleged negligence. Annamalai expressed his condolences and criticized the current state of law enforcement under CM Stalin. “Ever since the DMK came to power, Tamil Nadu has become the capital of murders. Anti-socials have no fear of the government or police,” he said.
National BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla also criticized CM Stalin and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, calling out the deteriorating law and order situation. “The law and order situation in Tamil Nadu is going from bad to worse. This shows that law and order are out of the control of MK Stalin,” Poonawalla said in a video, accusing the INDI Alliance of failing to address the issue.
