The Central Water Commission (CWC) has been honored with the GEEF Global WaterTech Award in the category of 'Water Department of the Year' at the prestigious Global Water Tech Summit 2024, held in New Delhi. The award, presented by the Global Energy and Environment Foundation (GEEF), recognizes significant achievements in the water sector across various domains, including innovation, technology, conservation, and sustainable development.

The Global Energy and Environment Foundation praised the CWC for its vital contributions to hydro-meteorological data collection, flood forecasting, reservoir storage monitoring, water quality assessment, coastal area management, and inter-state water dispute resolution. The foundation also commended CWC’s new initiatives, such as fostering collaboration with state and union territory water departments to enhance synergy in water resource management.
