A court in Chandigarh on Monday framed charges against former Haryana minister and BJP leader Sandeep Singh, who faces allegations of sexual harassment by a junior woman coach. Singh has been formally charged under sections 354, 354A, 354B, 506, and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The court also dismissed Singh’s application for discharge, indicating sufficient grounds to proceed with the trial. The next hearing is scheduled for August 17.
The allegations date back to December 2022 when a junior woman athlete coach accused Singh of harassing her from February to November of the previous year through persistent social media messages and inappropriate physical contact. Singh has refuted these claims. (ANI)
