Yogi Govt Allocates Over Rs 175 Crores for Disaster Relief

The Yogi government allocated more than Rs 175 crore from the State Disaster Relief Fund for various relief efforts across multiple districts. Significant amounts have been designated for flood relief, agricultural grants, and assistance for victims of natural disasters, ensuring prompt support for affected individuals and families.

The Yogi government has allocated more than Rs 175 crore from the State Disaster Relief Fund to aid those impacted by various disasters. Of this fund, Rs 120 crore had previously been distributed for relief work including help for flood-affected families and agricultural grants. Recently, an additional Rs 36 crore was disbursed, earmarking the largest portion of Rs 30 crore for Lakhimpur Kheri.

Relief Commissioner GS Naveen stated, "Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is deeply committed to providing assistance to those suffering from natural disasters. He monitors affected areas personally and issues necessary instructions to officials. This proactive approach has significantly reduced the loss of life and property over the past seven years."

The Relief Commissioner added that the government has allocated Rs 175 crore 40 lakh 77 thousand 392 for the financial year 2024-25. Of this, Rs 36 crore 75 lakh 77 thousand 392 have been released to six districts for flood relief, agricultural grants, and other efforts. The largest allocation of Rs 30 crore goes to Lakhimpur Kheri, followed by Rs 4 crore to Pilibhit, Rs 1.25 crore to Kasganj, Rs 1 crore to Kanpur Nagar, Rs 50 lakhs to Meerut, and Rs 77,392 to Mathura. Additionally, Rs 120 crore had earlier been released for emergency measures, and Rs 10 crore were allocated pre-monsoon for preparatory work.

Further funds include Rs 54 lakhs for victims of bull and Nilgai attacks, with Rs 30 lakhs for Fatehpur and Rs 24 lakhs for Pilibhit. Rs 64 lakhs were issued for human-wildlife conflicts in Balrampur, Pratapgarh, and Bijnor. For addressing damage caused by heavy rains, Rs 65 lakhs were allocated to Balrampur, Gorakhpur, and Pilibhit. Moreover, Rs 8 lakhs were allocated to Mirzapur and Rs 4 lakhs to Auraiya for heatwave impacts, and Rs 20 lakhs were set aside for storm damage in Balrampur, Pratapgarh, and Farrukhabad.

A total of Rs 3 crore 97 lakhs has been allocated for lightning damage, including allocations to Gorakhpur, Banda, Farrukhabad, Mau, Chandauli, Mahoba, Gonda, Bijnor, and Chitrakoot. For snakebite cases, Rs 2 crore 25 lakhs have been allocated mainly to Banda, Chitrakoot, and Mahoba. Additionally, Rs 10 crore 16 lakhs have been allocated for drowning-related deaths across 16 districts of the state.
