Odisha CM Presents Second Vote-on-Account for 2024-25 Fiscal

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presented a vote-on-account in the assembly to cover government expenditures for August and September. The Odisha Appropriation (Vote-on-Account) Bill, 2024, requests Rs 95,000 crore. This second vote-on-account follows the first one in February, with the full budget set to be passed on September 10.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi tabled a vote-on-account in the state assembly on Wednesday to fund various government expenditures for the months of August and September.

The Odisha Appropriation (Vote-on-Account) Bill, 2024, was presented by Majhi, who also serves as the finance minister, seeking an allocation of Rs 95,000 crore.

This marks the second vote-on-account in the 2024-25 fiscal year. The first was introduced in February for the initial four months of the financial year, anticipating the upcoming Odisha Assembly elections.

Although the Majhi administration introduced a full-fledged budget on July 25, the appropriation bill is expected to be approved by September 10, necessitating interim funding arrangements for August and September.
