BSP chief Mayawati criticized the BJP and Congress on Saturday for engaging in political sparring amid the disastrous loss of life and property across the nation. She emphasized the urgent need to address the 'imbalanced growth' and environmental degradation that the country faces.
Mayawati accused the BJP and Congress-led governments of promoting uneven development and called for a halt to the blame game over natural disasters. She stated that both parties are attempting to tarnish each other's reputation instead of focusing on public welfare.
In response to the Wayanad landslides, MLAs from the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala committed to donating one month's salary to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund. Contributions included Rs 1 lakh from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Rs 33,000 from his wife TK Kamala. Party units from Tripura and Tamil Nadu also made substantial donations.
