Delhi HC Rejects Kejriwal's Plea; BJP Demands Resignation

Delhi High Court dismissed CM Arvind Kejriwal's plea against his CBI arrest over the Excise Policy case. BJP leaders demand his resignation, while AAP plans to challenge the decision in the Supreme Court.

The Delhi High Court has dismissed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Excise Policy case. Reacting to the verdict, BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri remarked that the final decision rests with the judiciary. He noted that during the introduction of the policy in the State Assembly, as the opposition leader, he had urged Kejriwal to withdraw it.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has escalated its demands for Kejriwal's resignation. BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj stated, ‘Arvind Kejriwal has no moral reason to continue as Delhi CM and should resign.’

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva labeled Kejriwal as the ‘facilitator’ of the scam and welcomed the Delhi HC's verdict. Meanwhile, AAP's Legal Cell head Sanjeev Nasiar announced their intention to challenge the HC’s decision in the Supreme Court, asserting their confidence in eventual victory.
