In a landmark decision supporting the farming community, the Haryana Government has announced that it will procure ten crops at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The crops include Ragi, Soybean, Kalatil (Nigerseed), Safflower, Barley, Maize, Jowar, Jute, Khopra, and Moong (Summer).

This decision was finalized by the State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, during a meeting in Chandigarh on Monday. The government has committed to covering all expenses related to procuring these crops at MSP, with Chief Minister Saini making the announcement at a public meeting in Thanesar Vidhan Sabha, Kurukshetra district, on August 4. The swift approval by the Cabinet, within just 24 hours of the announcement, demonstrates the government's dedication to its farmers.

The expansion of MSP aims to stabilize market prices, guarantee a steady income for farmers, and encourage the cultivation of diverse crops. The primary objective is not only to stabilize but also to enhance farmers' income. Additionally, this move is expected to drive crop diversification within the state. (ANI)
