She arrived at the Hindon Air Base near New Delhi in a C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft. According to the Dhaka Tribune, at least 135 people lost their lives due to clashes involving police firings, mob violence, and arson across Bangladesh.
Reports from Prothom Alo, citing Dhaka Medical College Hospital, state that 500 injured individuals were admitted with various wounds, including gunshot injuries. Of these, 70 people have been hospitalized. Following confirmation of Hasina's departure, jubilant celebrations broke out in the streets, as reported by Dhaka Tribune.
The protests, initially spearheaded by students against the government's job quota system, escalated into widespread opposition against Hasina and the ruling Awami League party.
