Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, extended warm greetings to the members of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) on the occasion of its Foundation Day. In a message on social media platform X, Gandhi highlighted the importance of the organization's efforts in uniting India's youth against injustice and inequality, urging them to continue championing the dreams and aspirations of young Indians.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also extended his greetings, applauding the IYC for fearlessly championing India's core values and principles. Kharge called for the amplification of young voices against injustice and hatred while working together to create a brighter future for the country. The Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress also celebrated the Foundation Day, recognizing the IYC's over six-decade commitment to democracy, secularism, and social justice.
Earlier this month, the IYC commenced a new election process by dissolving its previous executive committee and initiating a membership drive. The nomination process, which began on August 4, will continue until August 14. According to Youth Congress state in-charge Vineet Kamboj, the election process will ensure transparency and reserve certain districts for SC and ST candidates. Performance-based membership opportunities will be available, with the entire process expected to conclude within 2 to 2.5 months.
