Gujarat's Grand Celebration of World Tribal Day under CM Bhupendra Patel's Leadership

In a grand state-level celebration of World Tribal Day, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel presided over a ceremony at Arrdekta Institute, Navi Metral, Khedbrahma in Sabarkantha district. Patel highlighted the indigenous tribes' spiritual connection with nature and their longstanding reverence for Birsa Munda. He emphasized that August 9 is marked annually to honor the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and identity of the Adivasis.

The Chief Minister reiterated the state government's commitment to ensuring basic amenities like water, healthcare, education, and employment for tribal communities across Gujarat. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for turning Gujarat into a unique model for tribal development. 'August has always been a month of revolution,' said Patel, noting the significant contributions by tribals in India's freedom struggle and the election of India's first tribal President, Droupadi Murmu.

Patel announced that Rs 1 lakh crore was allocated in the budget for tribal development, with an additional Rs 30,000 crore under Vanbandhu Kalyan Phase-2. Initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have created new employment opportunities, leading to qualitative improvements in tribal lives. He further pledged 100% development of 63,000 villages under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Vikas Unnat Gam Yojana. The event witnessed the inauguration and foundation stone laying of over 4,293 projects worth Rs 1,014.14 crore, aimed at furthering tribal welfare.
