18th Lok Sabha's Second Session: Key Highlights and Achievements

The Second Session of the 18th Lok Sabha concluded with 15 sittings over 115 hours. Productivity was at 136%, with significant discussions, the presentation of the Union Budget 2024-25, and the passage of four key bills, including the Finance Bill, 2024.

The Second Session of the 18th Lok Sabha concluded on Friday, after commencing on July 22, 2024. Speaker Om Birla highlighted that 15 sittings were held over approximately 115 hours.

During the session, the House achieved 136% productivity. Finance Minister presented the Union Budget 2024-2025 on July 23, with a general discussion spanning over 27 hours and 19 minutes, involving 181 Members. The Finance Minister responded to the discussion on July 30.

Demands for Grants of selected Ministries and Departments were addressed from July 30 to August 5, culminating in the passage of the Appropriation Bill on August 5. The session saw the introduction of 12 Government Bills and the passage of four, including the Finance Bill, 2024, and the Jammu and Kashmir Appropriation Bill, 2024. A total of 86 starred questions were answered orally.
