Experts Urge Action on Non-Communicable Diseases at Udaipur Meeting

In a high-level meeting held in Udaipur, experts emphasized the critical need for early diagnosis and effective treatment of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including type 1 diabetes (T1D). The gathering was organized by Breakthrough T1D in collaboration with UNICEF and Friends of Mewar.

Padmaja Kumari Parmar, Breakthrough T1D Global Ambassador, underscored the importance of access to healthcare and timely treatment to manage NCDs. She stressed the need for multi-stakeholder collaboration to enhance health outcomes for children and youth at risk of such diseases.

UNICEF India Representative Cynthia McCaffrey highlighted that children and youth from vulnerable communities are at the highest risk and often excluded from global NCD targets. She emphasized the necessity of integrating NCD care into primary healthcare to help these young populations thrive.
