The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will convene a significant meeting of its office bearers on August 17 in the national capital, with a focus on membership drives, assembly poll preparedness, and organizational elections. Party chief JP Nadda will preside over the meeting, which will also be attended by state chiefs, general secretaries, and other senior office bearers, party sources confirmed.

This gathering marks the first large-scale assembly of BJP office bearers following the Lok Sabha elections. The forthcoming assembly polls in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand are of particular importance for the BJP, especially after the party failed to secure an absolute majority in the recent Lok Sabha polls. The BJP currently leads the third successive NDA government at the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

Despite being in power in both Maharashtra and Haryana, the BJP did not meet its electoral expectations in these states during the Lok Sabha elections. As a result, the party has ramped up its preparations for the upcoming assembly polls. Both the Mahayuti government in Maharashtra and the BJP government in Haryana have announced several initiatives aimed at public welfare. The office bearers' meeting is anticipated to evaluate the party's readiness for these crucial state elections.
