No routine hospital services will be available at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi tomorrow, as members of the Faculty Association have initiated a strike to protest the rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. An urgent General Body Meeting led to the decision that only emergency medical services will continue, including casualty, emergency OT, ICU, and wards.

Resident doctors at AIIMS, New Delhi, are demanding the urgent implementation of a 'Central Protection Act' to ensure a safe environment for practising doctors. They have informed patients scheduled for OPD services tomorrow about the rescheduling of their appointments to minimize inconvenience.

Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Kumar Goyal has urged the public not to believe in 'rumours' and 'narratives' surrounding the incident. The postmortem was conducted by a three-member team, and the video is available for review by the CBI. The police have been transparent and are cooperating fully with the investigation.

In a related incident, 25 people were arrested due to vandalism by a mob at the RG Kar Hospital campus on August 14, causing damage to the protest site, vehicles, and public property. Security officials intervened to disperse the crowd.
