Karnataka CM Faces Prosecution Approval Amid Rising Tensions

In a significant political development, the Governor of Karnataka, Thaawarchand Gehlot, has granted permission to prosecute Chief Minister Siddaramaiah concerning the alleged MUDA scam. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has urged Siddaramaiah to cooperate with the investigation and resign from his position.

Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah stated that the entire state cabinet, party high command, and legislative members are supporting him during this challenging phase. He reiterated that all actions were conducted within the legal framework.

Meanwhile, the BJP is amplifying its demands for the chief minister’s resignation, asserting that an impartial investigation is necessary. State BJP President BY Vijayendra defended the Governor’s decision, stating it was within his constitutional rights. The case originates from a complaint filed by social activist Snehamayi Krishna against Siddaramaiah and others over alleged document forgery to claim compensation from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
