Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda in Delhi on Saturday, discussing strategies to expedite ongoing development projects and enhancing Andhra Pradesh under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. Nadda shared this update on social media platform X, noting their discussions on advancing the state in line with PM Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat.'
During his two-day visit to the national capital, Naidu also held meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Chandrashekhar Pemmasani and Jal Shakti Minister CR Paatil, seeking central financial support for various state projects.
The Telugu Desam Party reported on X that Naidu requested funding for initiatives such as Polavaram and aid for backward districts, highlighting the rising public debt of the state from 31.02 per cent of the GSDP in 2019-20 to 33.32 per cent in 2023-24. Naidu's meeting with Amit Shah covered a wide array of topics aimed at the comprehensive development of Andhra Pradesh and the nation. Additionally, discussions with Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu focused on developing new airports, expanding terminal capacity, and improving air connectivity in the state, as well as exploring the potential of helicopters, seaplanes, and drones in various sectors.
