The Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Atul Bhatt, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, for his visionary leadership in extending the lease of the Garbham Manganese Mine to RINL, according to an official release on Sunday. This extension is considered a significant milestone for RINL, ensuring the sustained availability of manganese ore for production needs, said the Ministry of Steel.
Bhatt also extended sincere thanks to Palla Srinivasa Rao, MLA-Gazuwaka, Visakhapatnam and President of the Telugu Desam Party, AP, and M Sri Bharat, the Member of Parliament, Visakhapatnam. Their relentless effort and support in pursuing this matter have been instrumental in securing this vital resource for RINL. The collaboration further strengthens RINL's commitment to contributing to the nation's growth and development.
The Garbham Manganese Mine spans 654 acres, with RINL's annual consumption of manganese at around 6,000 tons. Manganese, used in blast furnaces for producing hot metal, is a crucial component for RINL’s operations. The lease extension, a result of a collaborative effort, underscores the importance of strong partnerships between industry and government in driving economic progress.
