IMD Issues Orange Alert: Heavy Rainfall Predicted in Multiple States

The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for several states including West Bengal, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Tripura, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall. Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and the Northwestern states, particularly Uttar Pradesh, are also on alert for sustained rainfall over the next 5 to 7 days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for multiple states across India, including West Bengal, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Tripura. IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall in these areas.

Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and several parts of Southern India are also expected to experience significant rainfall. Northwestern states such as Uttar Pradesh have been alerted for sustained heavy rain over the next 5 to 7 days.

In Delhi, rain brought respite from humid conditions on Sunday. IMD predicts light rain will continue in Delhi until August 17, after which the rainfall will taper off but could resume later.
