Celebrating Maharaja Bir Bikram: Legacy and Progress in Tripura

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the importance of passing on Maharaja Bir Bikram's progressive vision to future generations during the 116th birth anniversary celebration. Honouring MLA Rampada Jamatia, he highlighted Maharaja’s contributions to development, modern farming, and the respect given by the current government.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stressed the significance of passing on Maharaja Bir Bikram's progressive philosophy to the next generation during the 116th birth anniversary celebration at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan on Monday. Saha stated that the Maharaja was instrumental in Tripura's development and modernisation.

Saha, along with other dignitaries, paid respect by garlanding the Maharaja’s portrait. MLA Rampada Jamatia was honored with the Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur Memorial Award-2024 for his outstanding contributions to education and cultural preservation.

Saha also highlighted the Maharaja's initiatives in land reforms, modern farming, and other sectors. He praised the current government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi for showing respect to the royal family by unveiling the statue of the Maharaja at Agartala Airport, renaming it in his honor, and maintaining his legacy.
