The Tripura State government has ordered the closure of all schools on August 21 and 22 due to severe weather conditions, including heavy rainfall, floods, and landslides. The closure affects government, aided, privately managed schools, schools under TTAADC, and Madrasas.

According to the Education Department's order, the decision aims to ensure student safety amid the adverse weather. District Education Officers have been instructed to communicate this decision to schools under their jurisdiction.

Chief Minister Manik Saha has appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for additional NDRF teams to aid in response efforts. He assured the public that the district administration, NDRF, SDRF, and local authorities are on high alert and actively providing assistance in flood-affected areas.
