Aspirants arrived on Saturday at exam centres across Uttar Pradesh amid heightened security for the police constable recruitment exam 2024. The recruitment drive aims to fill over 60,000 positions, drawing long lines of candidates outside centres in Moradabad and Kanpur.
The exam is scheduled for August 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31 at 67 different centres statewide. Each day features two shifts, accommodating approximately five lakh candidates per shift.
Authorities have rolled out extensive security and support measures to ensure smooth conduct. Joint Commissioner Amit Verma emphasized the deployment of teams for both security and candidate facilitation. Additionally, Government Railway Police SP Prashant Verma noted that a dedicated help desk has been established to assist candidates, especially those coming from other districts, with any issues.
To bolster security, the Rapid Action Force, police, civil defence, Government Railway Police, and Railway Protection Force have been deployed. This level of security follows an order by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to re-conduct the exam after a paper leak scandal in February.
