Tis Hazari Court Seeks Reply on Swati Maliwal Assault Case Documentation

The Tis Hazari Court requests a response from the Investigation Officer regarding Bibhav Kumar's plea for proper charge sheet pagination. Bibhav Kumar's judicial custody is extended to September 13. The case pertains to an assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal with Kumar's bail plea being dismissed by both trial and high courts.

On Saturday, the Tis Hazari Court sought a reply from the Investigation Officer in response to Bibhav Kumar's plea, which requested instructions on the pagination of the charge sheet and related documents supplied to his counsel. The court also extended Kumar's judicial custody until September 13. He has been in custody due to the Swati Maliwal assault case.

Presiding Judge Gaurav Goyal sought a response from the Investigation Officer, who appeared via video conferencing from Tihar Jail. Advocate Rajat Bhardwaj represented Kumar in this legal proceeding.

The Delhi police have filed a charge sheet against Bibhav Kumar, and the matter is currently at the scrutiny stage. The court acknowledged the chargesheet dated July 16 on July 30. The police have cited Sections 308, 354, 354 B, 506, 509, and 341 of the IPC, adding Section 201 to the charge sheet. Kuma's mobile phone, sim card, and DVR/NVR from CCTV at the Chief Minister’s residence serve as evidence.

The police report spans 500 pages, involving examinations of 100 individuals, with 50 listed as witnesses. The court instructed jail authorities to ensure Kumar's appearance via video conferencing for the next hearing.

Previous bail applications for Kumar have been rejected by both the trial court and the High Court. He was arrested on May 18 following AAP MP Swati Maliwal's complaint. The incident allegedly occurred on May 13 at the Chief Minister's residence.
