Counter Intelligence Kashmir Offers Rs 3 Lakh Reward for Information on LeT Terrorist
Counter Intelligence Kashmir has announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh for information leading to the arrest of LeT terrorist Sumama alias Illyas alias Babar. He's involved in radicalising youths and raising funds for terrorist activities in the region. Recent operations in Sopore resulted in the elimination of a terrorist.

Counter Intelligence Kashmir on Saturday declared a cash reward of Rs 3 lakh for information about a wanted Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist. According to a police press release, Pakistan-based terrorist Sumama, also known as Illyas and Babar, is a commander in the proscribed LeT outfit and is wanted in a case registered under the UAPA and IPC.
The release states that Babar is engaged in radicalising and recruiting youths in Jammu and Kashmir through social media, including encrypted messaging apps. He is allegedly using local netizens as couriers to transfer funds to various terrorist organizations to carry out attacks in the valley. "CI Kashmir has announced a cash reward of Rs 3,00,000 for any information leading to the capture of this commander and handler," the release added.
It further stated that anyone with information about the terrorist can share it via the provided phone number and address, assuring that the informer's identity will be kept confidential. On Saturday, a terrorist was eliminated, and war-like stores were recovered in an operation in Baramulla's Sopore area, the Army reported. There has been a notable increase in terror activities in the Jammu region, including recent encounters in Doda and Udhampur. The region is also preparing for elections after a decade, with the last assembly election held in 2014.
